Tynecastle Star (Edinburgh & Lothians) are looking forward to saturday the 9th of august for the friendly with Cupar Hearts again. We enjoyed taking part in last seasons pre-season game, and the warm welcome that was shown to our club.Last year we had all the possession and most of the chances in the game and lost it.However we are confident we will win on the 9th.Best Regards Andy Gibson (Manager)

i came across your site purely through my intrest in both hearts 9long suffering jambo) and having played amatuer football for years in edinburgh. living in galway these days im starved of fitba from scotland so i was delighted to come across your web-page. Only ever stopped off in cupar 3 times in ma puff with the 1st time being when i was about 12 on my way back from aberdeen when i actually saw hearts win at pittodrie and jim leighton made his debut for aberdeen. we stopped at a chippy on the way back from aberdeen and its only because the bus driver was lost. next time was a wedding in the toon centre and it was a great craic and the last time was when my 2 brothers and i all ended up missing the train back to edinburgh somehow after being in a match in dundee (jambos lost as usual) and to this day we dont know how we ended up getting a train as far as cupar we think and stayed in prob the only b&b in the toon. Anyway, fond memories of cupar and a good luck message for the club for the rest of the season. im living in Galway these days so im surrounded by plastic celtic fans which is ok but they still dont realise how biased anyone who isnt either a celtic or rangers in scotland fan can be because we cant be doing with all the nonsense that goes with both those clubs... hope that makes sense of sorts. anyway, goood luck te ye

I don't know about anyone else in the last two games but I have been extremely impressed by our new signing Adrian McKay. He seems to be a bit of a player and extremely quick down that left wing. I think with a run in the time he could become a valuable player with that trusty left peg of his. Never mind McPherson or Oliphant give McKay a game. If anyone else agrees or has other comments feel free to post them.

I am trying to trace details of a Great Uncle who was killed during World War 1. He was with the 16th Bat. Royal Scots who were made up of football players supporters and of course the HMFC 1st team in 1914. He lived at 17 South Lebanon and his name was Charles Cargill. There is a reference to Cupar Violet in the list of clubs that sent players to the batallion but I do not know if this club still exists. Any info if greatly appreciated.

So Cupar Hearts posted another TWO points on the board when they beat Fair City 2-0........& here was I believing that THREE points are awarded for a win, the guy that posts summaries of games needs to move into the 21st Century, or is Cupar ensconced in a time warp ?? you'll be telling me next the sugar beet factory still functions.

Went through to Love Street Fri 7th May to watch Scottish Amateur team play a Paisley & District Amateur select.......good game, Scottish side won 4-0.....couple of Fifers in the Scottish side - Gareth Wardlaw [scored 2 goals] & Ross MacDougall, both play at the Shippy for now, but will probably move on to bigger & better things, really good game to watch, none of those big punts up the park, both sides tried to play the ball along the deck.

I see a couple of folk wondering about the Honours list for season 2003-2004 - if you go to the www.scottishamateurfa.co.uk website, you will find all info there......really good site, especially if like me you work away from home, results are in either that day or the day after games are played. I normally watch the Shippie, not a particularly strong team this year unfortunately, in fact they give the impression that most of them have never kicked a fitba before, passing is shocking, and they haven't signed a goalkeeper yet, so they shouldn't be difficult to beat, they won't finish bottom of the league [that honour reserved for Balgonie Scotia once again I'm afraid, the way things are looking. Anyway, hope you all enjoy season 2004-2005.

Have kent George Laing for years, he has always had something to say about everything & never knew when to "zip it". At amateur level verbal abuse is part & parcel, but is easily overcome by simply ignoring it, by ignoring it the person being abused shows superiority over his abuser [who is nornally a dickhead & not worth bothering about anyway]by not becoming involved in a potentially provocative "no win" situation......banter on the other hand can be entertaining for all involved & the watching & in this case listening spectators - Rab Matthews always tried to wind up players & officials when he played, nothing malicious mind & probably still is to this day. Somebody said he is now involved with the Shipyard, they are having a poor start to the season, with their star man Gareth Wardlaw not helping the cause by being banned for x amount of games [carried over from last season] & getting sent off again for the umpteenth time in midweek against Kettle. Well done to Lumphinnans who won yesterday for the first time since entering the Kingdom League this season - beat Shipyard 4-3 away from home.

Without committee members there would be no Cupar Hearts, the work that they put in for the club is second to none and has to be admired. Yes they probably shouted at former Hearts players in the Norton game football is a passionate game but please 'sticks and stones' and all that! Maybe if the players had shown some commitment to Cupar rather than chasing glory at Norton they would have gained some respect remember both were asked to stay but neither of them gave the new team a chance.

Reading the match reports I couldn't believe it when I saw the name 'Kidd' mentioned. Surely not Pete Kidd!, it must be his son or something. I remember watching him mesmerizing the opposition with his wing play in the late seventies. After reading the report I checked the archives section to see if there was aphoto of him but then i remembered that photography was in it's infancy when he started playing.

i would just like to say that i have information on a certain lindsay sharp that does/used to play for cupar. dont know where he plays now, but him and another football player called darren mason (mazza) were actually caught in the mens toilets at elmwood college, having inappropriate bumsex with each other. both were suspended immediately until an investigation took place. most were shocked at this behaviour, especially as they were 1 of "the lads" but not me, i always knew that the boy sharpe had gay tendencias. if anyone would like to comment on this issue feel free to respond. keep up the good work hearts, i am sure your good start will come to fruition.

Observer can comment about commitment you will not get more commited players than those mentioned. We only have one life & only one football career if they decide to play for norton rather than CUPAR that has to be accepted at the end of the day we are talking ammature football for the love of the game all that good fortunes to them & cupar jimmy hall & the rest of them have to get real ? please comment at will

To all at Cupar Hearts Amateur F.C. and all Bullseye Fans. Would you like to see a new series of Bullseye with a new host back on the ITV Network? If your answer is a big 'Yes' then please visit my web site, http://www.bullseyeonline.net The Home Page will explain how you can really help make it happen, hopefully. If ITV do, 'Bring Back Bullseye' and you or your team members would like to be a contestant on the show be sure and tell them that, if and when you write to ITV. If you or they do get on the show as a contestant, the host always asks the name of the team or pub and you will get a nice plug. In the mean time you can watch repeats of Bullseye on Challenge TV week day evenings at 8.30 pm Monday to Friday. Once again thank you for your support over the past years. It is really appreciated. With best wishes Yours sincerely,Andrew Wood Writer/Producer

REMINDER TO ALL - EVERY TIME YOU USE THE RETURN KEY MAKING AN ENTRY [ie for a new paragraph], YOU ARE MAKING A NEW ENTRY IN GUESTBOOK.......see all the messages from the Bullseye character as an example....plonker. Anyway, I see it's Shippy v Hearts tomorrow, normally pretty tight games - last year 1-0 to Shippy & that was after their keeper was sent off in the first couple of minutes, with one of your guys following after 20mins or so & another Shippy player sent off in the 2nd half - lets hope the game tomorrow has 22 players still on the park when the Ref blows the final whistle......it would certainly make a welcome change.

Gareth Wardlaw the Shippy Scottish Amateur Internationalist [9 goals in 11 games for Scotland] has left the amateur ranks & signed for Ayr United last month, I'm sure we all wish him the best in the future. He signed on part time until transfer window opens in Jan 05, then will go full time. He will be sorely missed as he created & scored a heap of goals at amateur level - I am sure he will take the step up to a higher grade of fitba in his stride.

I think that the new management team of Hutchy and Gray deserve a lot of credit for the Hearts performances this season. In this their first season they have already produced more than expected. At start of season, a top four finish would have been a good result and maybe winning a cup as well, but the 2 Stevie's have managed to bring in some quality players and who knows what might yet happen this season. Great gamble by Chairman, Ian White to go for an untried management pairing, well done!

I wouldn't get to excited, there is a long way to go yet. Think Cupar Hearts will finsh 4th.

173Name: the bear + paulEmail:
we think that next season, cupar should start up a under-17 team as they have the strips, the facilities and possibly good sponsors. Myself and Paul know plenty of people who would like to play for the best club in fife, maybe in scotland. So Mr. Ian White, please consider this offer to bring a younger generation of players to the club, bear + paul!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
